CAJM Conference 2024

May 14-15 & Morning of May 16 in Washington, DC
Afternoon of May 16 in Baltimore, MD

IT’S TIME TO REGISTER!

SEE THE PROGRAM AGENDA!

American Jewish museums have long played a role in strengthening the public square and civic participation.  Whether working directly with teachers and schools, illuminating the journey of religious freedoms in America, anchoring and stimulating informed public dialogue, or modeling inclusion and democracy — museums are an integral and trusted force in public life.

With American society now so deeply divided, museums of all kinds are developing new ideas about their role in civic life and democracy — for the immediate year ahead and beyond.

In partnership with A More Perfect Union: The Jewish Partnership for Democracy, the CAJM 2024 conference will activate new thinking across museums to advance their position in strengthening democracy. DC conference activities will take place at multiple venues, including the Lillian and Albert Small Capital Jewish Museum, the National Archives, the National Museum of American History, and Planet Word.

A post-conference workshop on Jewish art practices that build a healthier democracy will take place in Baltimore on the afternoon of May 16, hosted by the Jewish Museum of Maryland at the Madison House.

A limited number of scholarships covering conference registration are available.  Please complete this application form by May 10.

We recommend that you fly in/out of BWI airport, especially if you are planning to attend both the DC and Baltimore portions of the program.

While the special CAJM rate is no longer available at the conference hotel, you may still pursue a regular reservation there through The Royal Sonesta Washington DC Dupont Circle public website (or at another hotel to your liking).
