Beauty and Terror
A series of 18 original contemporary fiber artworks by Robin L. Bernstein focusing on the Holocaust. Each highly colored, freely shaped piece is made of thousands of tiny cut pieces of string that have been pressed into wax. Beauty and Terror includes redemptive stories and heroic acts of resistance as well as both well-known and lesser-known crimes committed during the Holocaust. A paragraph of text accompanies each piece, providing factual information and highlighting individual stories. The work is meant to educate, memorialize and push back against the current rising tide of antisemitism.
