Emergency Grants for Creatives

Thanks to the generous support of CANVAS, CAJM is proud to be able to offer a limited number of emergency grants in the amount of $2,000 each to individual creative talents within the Jewish museum network.

If you have creative professionals on your staff (or as consultants on projects) whose interesting work with you has been delayed, reduced, or cancelled owing to the COVID-19 crisis, we invite them to apply.

The intent is that these small grants will help re-ignite your creative work together, help move it forward, and strengthen your relationship for the future.

The process to apply is as follows:

- Individual must apply to CAJM directly with a two-page cover letter that describes: their relationship to your museum (staff or consultant/contractor); the work that was disrupted and the financial setback; and what a grant award of $2000 would help move forward.

- A letter of recommendation from the museum's director about the value of the individual's creative work to the museum and its future. The museum, itself, must be a current institutional member of CAJM.

- Applications will be reviewed monthly by committee, and will be distributed ASAP while funds are available.

Examples of potential applicants include individual graphic designers, website designers, artists, performers, musicians, filmmakers, writers, independent curators, or museum staff members working creatively with content (curatorial, programmatic, educational).  Applicants must have experienced a reduction or cessation of payment/salary/hours to qualify.

Submit materials directly to executive@cajm.net by August 17, 2020.  Final applications to be reviewed by committee with grants awarded by August 31, 2020.

Our thanks go to CANVAS for making these grants possible.
